Our school is Bruner Middle School. As parents, we found it hard to determine how our son was doing in school. The on line grade system was only as good as the teachers using them and overall the on line system was lacking. Gradin was always late to the point it was not effective. We then went back to a notebook signing system by his teachers to monitor his assignments and it didnt work much better. The pricipal was very nice and helped us, but we never had a warm fuzzy exactly what was going on. If you have a child that needs close supervion/mgt, recomend staying very close to his teachers and utilizing the principal early on to keep your kid on the right track.

Bruner is a great school with a great Principal, teachers and staff. There are a variety of clubs and sports for every personality. There are many advanced classes and some for high school credit. The teachers in this school are like a close-knit family and it shows when my children comment on how much they love their teachers. My children would not attend any other school but Bruner.

We have five children three have attedned Bruner and one is there now . We have lived in one other state and one other county in Florida. The other two middle schools our children have attended do not come close to the standards and moral 's held at Bruner. The staff is extremely helpful and just plain out wounderful. There is not other place I could wish for my children to attend middle school. Thank You for being better than a parent could wish for. Sandra

I am a seventh grader at Bruner and well I love it. I would not have choosen a different school to go to. Bruner is absoultely amazing. We have some of the best athletes in the county and amazing sports teams. Our football and boy's basketball were both undeafeated this year and they deserved it. I am in BETA and I have never been in anything like it. My teachers are fantastic and the classes are amazing. Bruner has so many outstanding things. And our new principal, Mr. Spolski, is absoultely wonderful. He is a principal like no other. He is actually a principal that kids don't fear, but like. We have many great things at Bruner and everyone needs to realize that we are a great school. Bruner students try their hardest. And I am very proud to be a BRUNER SPARTAN! :]]

Max bruner middle school is an amazing school. When my daughter transferred down here from a school in new jersey, she hated it. When she started going to bruner she became happier. Bruner's academic programs are amazing. The fact that they have clubs [like beta] for the academicly gifted is amazing. The availabilty of extracurricular activites is absoultey outstanding. Bruner has some of the best athletes in the county. With their undeafted football team and boys basketball, they show great work ethics and amazing dedication. Bruner is the type of school a parents dreams of their child going to. The fact that bruner has so many different things for parents to be part of is wonderful. This school is an enviroment that my daughter loves and absouletly adores. I have never had a child that actually wants to go to school, like my daughter does. Bruner is an amazing school!

This is my daughter's first year at Bruner and she is doing very well, academically, physically, and socially. She is taking advance courses and maintaining honor roll. She's made alot of new friends and is very happy. I, too, have made new friends by volunteering with the School Advisory Council and other activities. I was not too thrilled with the lack of communication between the school and the parents, but Mr. Spolski has started a monthly newsletter that is mailed to the parents, not given to the child, and it's helped tremendously. I wish 6th graders were given more chances to get into major sports programs. I just think we should start grooming the younger ones to replace the 8th graders when they move on to high school. I'm glad my child kept trying out until she finally made a team, it means alot to her to be a team player.

First year here in Florida and at Bruner. I was very disappointed with the lack of communication between teachers and parents. I had to follow up on all request. I also found that the adminisration stood by the teacher no matter what the situation. I understand standing by your staff but not to the extent that as a parent you feel bullied. I am hoping for a better year. Bruner was given great reviews in the past so I big enough to give second chances.

The school is clean and organized. Teachers are friendly. The art teacher retired and art was removed. Still many activities to choose. My daughter was in all advanced classes. Homework load was tremendous, averaging three or more hours every night. Discipline and guidance is iffy. Some very good teachers, some average. Some teachers do show favoritism. Lots of pomp at school functions. Parent involvement is not high. Occasional poor timing-coordination between classes with major curriculum projects.

I absolutely love the school! The entire staff is fantastic and we are treated with respect. My children are learning and developing the skills they need to face High School. Thank you Bruner! Thanks to all the teachers and staff for taking good care of my triplets. Excellent job! Very much appreciated! Go Bruner! Go Spartans!

Bruner, as any school, is only good for those who are already intelligent enough to pass any school in this county. Children with learning issues are not going to get the adequate help they really need at this school. The Okaloosa county school district does not make it a priority for all the schools in this county to provide special classes for these type of children. Bruner is a school that has extra help only in the regular class for children with learning issues. That is not good enough. I was not surprised to hear they are dropping art, but I bet they are keeping Spanish. I recommend Meigs, it has special SLD classes. Plus, they have better electives to choose from. However, I recommend homeschooling for children with learning issues. You have no FCAT, no doing teachers jobs after hours(homework), and no political brainwashing. Plus, our school lunches are disqusting.

I am an eigth grade student at Bruner Middle School and have been at this school since the being of sixth grade. I really enjoy going to school here and I'm going to miss everything about Bruner. I love all of my teachers, they are really interested in their students doing the best they can. We may not have art at Bruner any more, but we still have an excellent band and choir. Our principal, Dr. Kelley really does want the best for her students and she is always behind all of us. I feel like this school is very welcoming and is built around its students.

This is my son's 2nd year at Bruner. Already this year it took me almost two weeks to get a meeting set with his teachers. No one was calling me back I finally left a note for Dr. Kelly and she set the meeting up,but I shouldn't have to go through all that. My son as A.D.D. and at times I felted like the school was working against me and not with me.The teachers were all very helpful after I talked with them a few times. But there were still times that they would over load him with homework and classwork and it would be to much for him in one day. I feel like I'm doing my job as a parent but I don't feel the school is always doing there job.

I am a new teacher at Bruner Middle School this year and I must say I am very impressed with not only the caliber of teachers here, the excellent and efficient administrative staff, as well as all the supportive staff. Everyone is hard working and extremely courteous. A truly warm atmosphere exists here. The students are wonderful to work with and I feel very fortunate to be at this fine institution. Our school has much to offer our students in so many areas and it is all based on the enrichment of the child. Here at Bruner, I am proud to say, your child really is considered as a top priority, your child really is #1! Go Spartans!
